Recently, I’ve been falling back in love with stying clothes and found some boutiques worth visiting in Huntington Beach. To be honest, I think a large part of why I’ve found a new burst of energy in this “department” is because I’ve lost a bit of weight after doing yoga almost everyday for 4 months. I started making healthier choices because I started having heartburn that start to hurt my chest (like A LOT), and prohibited me from actually sleeping.
Throughout my health journey, I’ve never weighed myself because I wanted to strictly keep it about health and not about body image. I didn’t want to start obsessing over gaining a pound or two when I ate. I just focused on making decisions that would lead me to creating healthy habits and working out. I’ve now come to a place where fitness has become a part of my life to build strength and a way to start off the day positively by accomplishing something.
All that said, clothes that have never fit before, started fitting and I found myself trying on outfits that I haven’t tried for a long time. There is an underlying issue here about fashion not being accessible for everyone, but I’ll leave that for a different time.
Along the way, I found some cute boutiques worth visiting in Huntington Beach called Dash of Sass Fashion, a sister boutique of a 25-year-running-boutique called Model Citizen in Huntington Beach. I believe local boutiques (and businesses in general) are a backbone of this
I found couple of #fits that are definitely the now trending (and you know how much I love trendy clothes). Princess sleeves, graphic tees, and midi skirts are what’s in right now and Dash of Sass Boutique has it all. My favorite right now is princess sleeves! They make my manly ass arms look like I belong in a palace.
Here are some style ideas from boutiques worth visiting in Huntington Beach Dash of Sass Fashion –
This black top has a versatile off-the-shoulder neckline, long billowy sleeves, rushing top, and tie on both sides. You can tie it higher or lower depending on what kind of bottom you are wearing. The off-white skirt with black dot print is a silk mix fabric that is easy to wear and comfortable on your hips.
Off white top with silver reflective dot pattern with ruching on the bottom to fit comfortably for your mid section. It’s form fitting without it being uncomfortable. I styled it with Levis and a simple belt.
Millennial punk cheetah print silk mix skirt + pink shirt with long billowy sleeves, rushing top. There are frills at the bottom of the shirt. I think it’s a little too princess-like for me, but it did fit very comfortable without making me look like a Marshmellow. I got the baby embroidered hat from Valfre couple of seasons ago!
I absolutely love this #fit (seriously). I think out of all these outfits, I would wear this out the most because it’s so comfortable. The overall denim skirt with a graphic tee (which by the way they have a lot of, so you should check those out!)
If you try any of these looks tag #saltystyle and @_haysalty and post it on Instagram so I can repost you! In the meanwhile, if you are in Huntington Beach, check out Dash of Sass Fashion (324 Main St, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 ) and their sister store Model Citizen! They are right next to each other so you can’t miss it!
